| "Giclee" is a multi-color, archival-quality printing process developed for fine art reproductions. In recent years, its popularity has also grown among photographers and digital artists. A typical Giclee printer uses eight colors of ink: three shades of cyan, three shades of magenta, plus the standard yellow and black. The additional shades of cyan and magenta allow the reproduction of a much broader spectrum of colors than traditional four-color printing. Many Giclee printers are also capable of printing on a larger variety of surfaces, including photo paper, watercolor paper, and even canvas."
